The individual components of the cottage were then assembled on the lot using helical piles and beams to shape a fabulous serene cottage that captured the beauty of an old timber-frame cottage while showcasing the beauty and versatility of Cross Laminated Timber (CLT).
The interior of the home seems to be connected with the garden outside at every turn and the smart courtyard with a freestanding bathtub separates the public and private space while ushering in plenty of natural light. With a narrow structure the home concentrates on passive heating and cooling techniques to reduce its energy bills.
As you enter the X11 you notice the wonderful use of contrasting materials that turn the living area into a captivating and visually enchanting space filled with varying textures. A coffee table and dining table with natural wooden surfaces a plush sofa in the living area that borrows from the hue of raw concrete and sleek marble additions combine in a seamless fashion here.
The backdrop uses neutral shades along with a generous amount of gray while plush fabric throws pillows and accessories add pops of bright color. A stunning contemporary kitchen with a cheerful ambiance an ingenious dining space and a trendy nursery make up the lower level.
Intentionally designed by Auxau Atelier d’Architecture to keep both initial costs and maintenance to a minimum the nifty new addition adds a small breakfast zone and a sleek contemporary kitchen to the existing traditional home.
